Description
Kale Serrick is tall and thin, even for a Duros. Unless circumstances dictate otherwise, he is wearing his dirty flight-suit which, originally a bright yellow, is beginning to match his ashy grey skin. His blaster’s handle is worn from heavy use as are the tools stored in his backpack.
Background
Kale originally made a living piloting cruises for an “extreme” travel company. This company catered to those bored with slow flights over Alderaan or Naboo. As an alternative, they offered flights into regions of the galaxy to which the Republic was less watchful. Kale’s piloting skills came in handy due to frequent encounters with pirates and natural hazards.
During this time, Kale never lost a passenger and never got more than a scratch on the company ship. This changed when the Empire assumed control. During a routine tour to Dantooine, Kale was attacked by Imperials who claimed his ship harbored Rebel spies.
Kale’s ship was immobilized and boarded by Imperials. While they searched his ship and rounded up his passengers, Kale managed to hide in a compartment he had built into the bulkhead. When the Imperials sold the ship for scrap, Kale slipped away, both relieved and greatly shamed.
When Kale heard of the mission to go to the Kuat Drive Yards, he readily volunteered. His knowledge of astrogation and piloting allowed him to secure a position on the base, even though the Kuat corporate structure had adopted some of the xenophobic attitudes of the Empire.
Kale’s Destiny (Rescue)
Kale feels he needs to redeem himself after failing to protect his last group of passengers. Deep down, he knows that, when given the chance to once again prove his ability to protect those under his charge, it will be more important than any of his former escapades. |
